In September 2002, SNAP held a press conference outside Harvard Yard, in response to the Worcester Diocese’s subpoena of Phil Saviano’s confidential SNAP records. Representing him was attorney Wendy Murphy, at the far right. Fifteen minutes before the start of the event, in the wake of several news stories and columns highly critical of the Diocese’s aggression, the Worcester Bishop ordered his lawyers to withdraw his demands. For more information about this, see the Boston Globe column entitled “Worcester Diocese Victimizing The Victims” in the print media section of this website.
